About our Turmeric Root (Organic)

Fresh organic turmeric - ready to use. Grate into curries, smoothies, dressings, juices or make golden paste. Storage Tips:

  • Refrigeration: Store fresh turmeric root in the refrigerator to maintain its quality and extend its shelf life. Keep it in the vegetable crisper drawer, preferably wrapped in a paper towel or cloth to absorb excess moisture.
  • Freezing: If you have more turmeric root than you can use in a short time, consider freezing it for long-term storage. Place whole, chopped or grated turmeric in an airtight container or freezer bag and store it in the freezer for up to six months.


How to Prepare and Use:

  • Peeling: To use turmeric root in your dishes, first, peel the outer skin using a vegetable peeler or a spoon (since the skin is thin and delicate).
  • Grating Frozen Turmeric: When you need to use turmeric root in your recipes, take the frozen pieces from the freezer and grate them directly into your dish. Grating frozen turmeric is easier and prevents it from becoming mushy. It imparts a warm, earthy flavor and a vibrant golden hue to curries, soups, smoothies, and many other dishes. Remember that turmeric stains easily, so handle it with care and consider using gloves or washing your hands immediately after handling.
